Geotechnical/Environmental Drill Rig Operator

(BURLE) is a multi-disciplined engineering and surveying firm providing civil, environmental, structural, and geotechnical engineering services to public/private clients located in an eleven-state area. With construction material testing laboratories certified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Mississippi Department of Transportation, BURLE operates branch offices throughout the state of Mississippi and beyond.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Drill Rig Operator. The Drill Rig Operator will be responsible for maintaining equipment, operating Hollow Stem Auger and/or Direct Push Technology drill rigs, shallow groundwater well installation, and drilling. Position includes travel with overnight stays. The position is located in Madison, MS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Technical or Trade school education is a plus
  • Currently obtains a MS Water Well Contractors License or able to obtain a License
  • Experience in equipment maintenance and repair
  • Experience installing shallow groundwater wells
  • Experience with Hollow Stem Auger and/or Direct Push Technology Drill Rigs
  • Knowledge and experience with drilling operations
  • Knowledge of state regulations regarding water well installation
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and work outside
  • Must pass a drug screening
  • Has a valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred)
