Kirkland Performance Center (KPC) is a cultural cornerstone, embodying a mission to provide a dynamic gathering place where the community converges for creative expression, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections. The vision for KPC extends beyond a mere venue, aspiring to uplift and inspire individuals of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds through a diverse array of performances and shared experiences. The history of KPC is a testament to community collaboration and vision. Originating from Village Theatre's search for a new facility in the mid-1980s, community and business leaders joined forces to build a new theater in Kirkland's downtown. Over a decade, with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers and visionary leaders, KPC emerged, funded by a substantial $5.8 million raised from a diverse range of donors. Since its opening in June 1998, the 394-seat theater, designed by Becker Architects, has provided a spacious yet intimate setting with exceptional acoustics and sightlines, further solidifying its role as a cultural hub.
Today, KPC remains a vibrant and inclusive space, serving as a testament to the commitment of its founders and supporters. Through its mission-driven programming and ongoing dedication to accessibility, KPC continues to foster a sense of community, connecting individuals through the transformative power of the arts in Kirkland's picturesque downtown.
