Since its inception in July 2002, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, affectionately dubbed the "Tooth Truck," has provided crucial dental services to over 31,225 children through an impressive 65,794 appointments, valued at $22.3 million. Operating year-round, Monday through Friday, the Tooth Truck strategically visits locations like Great Circle, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Salvation Army, ensuring comprehensive dental care for children in need.
Despite its modest footprint of just over 200 square feet, the Tooth Truck stands as a state-of-the-art mobile dental office, equipped with two complete operatories. Offering a spectrum of services, from x-rays to root canals, the Tooth Truck operates with self-contained water systems and climate control, allowing for comfortable dental care in any season. The remarkable aspect lies in its ability to provide these services free of charge, made possible through community donations and Missouri Medicaid reimbursements.
