Welcome To

Good Samaritan Inn

Good Samaritan Inn

For over four decades, The Good Samaritan Inn, located at 920 N. Union St., Decatur, IL, has been a vital support system for the local community. Our mission is to create social and economic opportunities through nourishment, gardening, and education. The Noon Meal Program, operational daily from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, including holidays, ensures that no one goes hungry by providing a hot lunch 365 days a year. Complementing this, our Mercy Gardens initiative cultivates fresh produce for our meal program and partner food pantries. Additionally, from June to September, we operate the Mercy Market, a downtown Farmer's Market in Decatur's Preston Jackson Park.

We welcome and encourage volunteer participation in both the Noon Meal and Mercy Gardens programs. While we do not provide food boxes or pantry services, our efforts are concentrated on impactful, sustainable support through our existing programs. Donations are accepted weekdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and weekends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, helping us to continually fulfill our mission and serve the community effectively. Together, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
